Wastewater Treatment Plant Tour – Chapel Hill

March 17, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Join OWASA’s Wastewater Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor Wil Lawson to learn how the water you send down the drain becomes a valuable, reusable resource! The Mason Farm Wastewater Treatment Plant uses physical, chemical, and biological processes to treat wastewater to a very high level before releasing it into Morgan Creek or for use as reclaimed water for non-drinking purposes.

Participants are required to wear closed toe, walking shoes (no heels), and masks. Due to COVID precautions, this tour will be mostly outside.

This free event is appropriate for most fitness levels. Participants will need to climb stairs and navigate over narrow walkways.

The Wastewater Treatment Plant is located at 170 Old Mason Farm Rd. in Chapel Hill. Come through the gate and park at the Administration Building.

Sign up today! Limited to the first 15 people who sign up.

RSVP by emailing OWASA Communications Specialist Blake Hodge, please include your name and how many people will be in your party.
