CWEP is excited to host the third annual Regional Creek Week, to engage the public on the importance of clean and healthy waterways. A variety of events will take place across the region, both virtually and in-person – for more info, check out the list of events below (events will be added as they are scheduled). Join us in celebrating and protecting our waterways this Creek Week!

CWEP REGIONAL EVENT

GSI OH MY! SCAVENGER HUNT | March 18- 25

This virtual scavenger hunt will take place March 18th to the 25th on Instagram and Facebook to celebrate the current nature-based stormwater solutions that are in our communities. You can be anywhere in North Carolina to participate! Read CWEP’s posts on social media and our blog to learn more about Green Stormwater Infrastructure and the relationship it has to our waterways and community.
How to play:
1. Learn about GSI at our About GSI webpage. Then, go explore and find an example of GSI, snap a picture and post on Instagram OR Facebook.
2. Follow and Tag cwep_nc on Instagram or NC Clean Water Education Partnership on Facebook to be entered in a prize drawing. You are also welcome to tag the social media account of your local government.
3. One winner will be announced March 22nd and two winners will be announced on March 25th.
Pictures submitted will be saved and added to a GSI photo album on our website!

The Town of Holly Springs will be having a Tree giveaway and Litter Clean Up to celebrate Creek Week this year.

Knightdale will be hosting a variety of Creek Week events including a Litter Sweep, Tree Giveaway, Shred Service and Storytime walk.

Leland Creek Week

Morrisville Creek Week

Events for the week will include volunteer stream cleans and litter pickups by Morrisville stream stewardship groups, educational booths at community centers and the Western Wake Farmers’ Market, installation of markers on stormwater drains at various locations around Town – all hosted by the Town of Morrisville Stormwater Division.
